The second-prize Powerball tickets were purchased in Bergen and Essex counties. A single winning ticket for the $1.08 billion jackpot was sold in California.
They were sold at Metro Liquor on Broadway in Elmwood Park and Galaxy Liquors on Central Avenue in Orange, state lottery officials said.
In addition, 12 third-prize tickets worth $100,000 or $50,000 were bought in New Jersey.
