More than 70 vendors will take over the fourth-floor atrium of the downtown mall, creating a holiday haven under the Emporium dome
The San Francisco Centre mall will host a different kind of market Dec. 6-7 when more than 70 local vendors take over the entire fourth-floor atrium and set up pop-up shops under the dome of the former Emporium department store.
“By doing this, we create a unique level of equity,” Thompson said, noting that the majority of vendors featured this year are people of color whose socioeconomic backgrounds might have prevented them from having access to these types of events. Robbie Silver, president and chief executive of the Downtown SF Partnership, which is responsible for the projection show, said that the pop-up"is a fantastic example of how our continued efforts to draw visitors downtown are inspiring others to activate the area in new, inventive ways.” Silver said that last year's event attracted over 67,000 attendees.
