Police are searching for Francisco Ramirez, the ex-boyfriend of 17-year-old Keagan Shelton, who was found dead in an East Anchorage apartment with upper body trauma. Ramirez was recently released from jail for charges related to DUI, assault, and misconduct.
ANCHORAGE , Alaska (KTUU) - Police confirmed the name Thursday of a 17-year-old girl who was killed earlier this week in East Anchorage . Keagan Shelton was the teenager identified by police with upper body trauma on Monday night at an apartment on Eastgate Place, off Boniface Parkway near East 32nd Avenue. Police confirmed that 19-year-old Francisco Ramirez is a person of interest in the case. The department told Alaska ’s News Source on Thursday that police are trying to find Ramirez.
Alaska’s News Source also confirmed that Ramirez was Shelton’s ex-boyfriend who was just released from jail at the end of November for charges linked to a DUI, assault and misconduct using a weapon. A family member of Shelton’s told Alaska’s News Source that the teen was homeschooled, adding that she loved hanging out with friends and described her as a happy and strong person
