Persons of interest photos released by Columbus police on May 7, 2024, in connection with the deadly shooting of Ronald Diggs near a Waffle House by Ohio State University. Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying four more persons of interest they want to interview in connection with a shooting near a, 38, was shot and killed near a Waffle House at 1712 N. High St. last week. He was in town from Atlanta to perform a show.Diggs was shot in the chest.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts or identities of the four additional persons of interest can call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 461-TIPS . In 2022, Franklin County Municipal Court records state Curry was charged with "using weapons while intoxicated," a misdemeanor, after police say he was discovered under the influence of alcohol and lying face down with a firearm in an apartment complex second-floor landing.Instead of paying a fine for the crime, Curry was allowed to participate in a gun safety pilot program through the Columbus City Attorney's Office for people with non-violent misdemeanors.
Curry was required to surrender his weapon to be destroyed and take gun safety classes to be educated about the dangers of a firearm. His case was dismissed after he successfully finished the six-month program in August 2023. When he was 15 years old, CPD said he was wounded during a double shooting in northeast Columbus. He was not severely injured.
