Local police made several recent arrests, including one for assault following an altercation at a bar and two for theft at retail stores.
A 32-year-old Streetsboro man called police from an Uber car shortly after midnight Dec. 24 to report that he had been assaulted while sitting at The Sports Page bar after an alumni hockey game. Someone not known to him grabbed him and pulled him to the floor, causing cuts and abrasions to his back. Witnesses identified the assailant as a 42-year-old Chagrin Falls man, who had left the scene. Police were familiar with the suspect from past interactions.
Officers went to an address associated with him and saw the suspect’s truck parked with fresh tire tracks in the snow and footsteps leading to the door.When questioned, he told police he had “loose ends” with the victim regarding a woman. Police arrested the drunken man and charged him with assault, disorderly conduct and driving while intoxicated.Officers responded to a call at 3 p.m. Dec. 23 from Target, where an employee suspected two teens of stealing items.One admitted to stealing a USB phone cable and one boy had a video game controller and mouse concealed in his pants.Police are investigating a 3:50 p.m. Dec. 21 theft at Ulta Beauty. In-store video surveillance showed two suspects stuffing perfume bottles into their shirts and pants and leaving the store with the concealed merchandise.Based on information from other Ulta stores, the duo may be from Toledo
