We have new details on what we now know was two separate two-vehicle accidents on U.S. 431 between Dothan and Headland on Tuesday afternoon, one of which involved a Kinsey police officer.

That accident happened along U.S. 431 in the small town nestled midway between Dothan and Headland.

Initial indication is the officer suffered back injuries and will be transferred to a Dothan hospital. The accident caused a major traffic backup along the busy four-lane highway, with additional reports saying traffic was being diverted at the time in the area. This has since been cleared.
