Police are searching for a suspect accused of raping a 5-year-old girl inside a Staten Island home last week. Dominique Giles, 30, is alleged to have sexually assaulted the child, who police say was known to him, on January 22nd around 5:38 a.m. The incident took place at a residence near Richmond Terrace and Sharpe Avenue in Port Richmond. Authorities report that medical personnel transported the young girl to Richmond University Medical Center for evaluation following the disturbing attack.
Giles has a prior arrest record, having been apprehended in April for allegedly choking and assaulting his girlfriend in the Brighton Heights neighborhood of Staten Island. He also reportedly broke her phone during the altercation. The NYPD released a mugshot of Giles on Wednesday evening in an effort to locate and apprehend him.
