A second defendant, Raashawn Dillard, is headed to court in the case after waiving a Thursday preliminary hearing.
Pennsylvania State Police and Cumberland County prosecutors have reversed course and dropped all charges against a 16-year-old Carlisle teen arrested last week as one of two suspects in a Dec. 11 armed robbery at a Cumberland County Dollar General store.
As for Rall, Cumberland County District Attorney Sean McCormack said the decision to drop charges was based on new information developed in the case. Court papers in the case, however, did show that investigators seemed to have what they felt was a strong visual identification of Dillard from a combination of surveillance tapes gathered from the crime scene and surrounding businesses.
While one of the robbers held a gun to an employee’s head, the other emptied the cash register. The duo then ordered a second employee to open the store’s safe, with the now-unidentified suspect underlining the demand by firing a shot into the ceiling.
