The weekend is off to a violent start as at least 12 people were shot and three people killed in nine separate shootings.
Police in East Falls investigate a shooting that killed a 17-year-old male and injured an 18-year-old on Berkley Drive.At least 12 people have been shot and three killed Friday and Saturday during a violent stretch of days across Philadelphia. in shootings across the city since Thursday.
Earlier, around 3:30, a 17-year-old male was shot multiple times, on the 3100 block of Berkley Drive, in East Falls. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died. An 18-year-old male was also shot at the scene. He is in stable condition and, police say, he is being held as a prisoner. Two weapons were recovered.
Friday night around 9:50 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot once in the left foot near 33rd and Allegheny Avenue. Authorities say teen was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle and he is in stable condition.
