The need for more treatment than Amber Burkhart would get on probation was cited as a reason.

WILLIAMSPORT – A Lycoming County judge has refused to accept the guilty plea agreement of a homeless woman who failed to report the drug-related death of male friend.

Burkhart would have been allowed to withdraw the guilty plea she entered in February to an abuse of corpse charge if the judge did not adhere to the terms of the plea agreement. There is a lack of closure in this case because no one knows what really happened, said assistant District Attorney Taylor J. Beucler.56, about 5 p.m. on Jan. 5 after they forced their way into his Blanchard Avenue apartment in Old Lycoming Twp. just north of Williamsport.

Police secured the apartment but were called back the following morning for a reported burglary and arrested Burkhart who was inside.
