4,000 new 'high-quality' homes are part of the plan
A blueprint to guide the regeneration and development of a large area of Old Trafford and Gorse Hill has been approved. Trafford council has given the thumbs up to the Civic Quarter Area Action plan which covers 136 acres of land.
Trafford council’s executive member for economy and regeneration Coun Liz Patel said the proposals will bring new public realm, including a processional route between Lancashire Cricket Club and Manchester United and improved cycle and pedestrian connections. She said the plan has been the subject of several rounds of public consultation and was examined by an independent planning inspector in a series of public meetings held at Trafford Town Hall in April 2022. Following its adoption, the CQAAP is now part of the statutory development plan and will be used to determine planning applications in the Civic Quarter area.
