A Pirates of the Caribbean franchise status update could boost hopes that Johnny Depp will make his return. This new POTC news comes as Disney continues developing a sixth film in the long-running, very successful action-adventure series. Depp starred as eccentric buccaneer Jack Sparrow in the first five movies, but it’s been presumed that Pirates of the Caribbean 6, if it ever happens, will see Depp being replaced.
