In 2014, New York-based photographerbecame curious about the city’s Black motorcycle community, and started to ask around.

Once the Flacons vouched for her, Cate began connecting with other clubs. Over the next five years, she became deeply immersed in a world where bonds can be deeper than blood, weaving photographs and conversations with 10 bikers in her first book,is a portrait of the families we make for ourselves that stick together, through good times and bad.
