Phoenix Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred near 29th and Northern avenues. The suspect vehicle fled the scene but was later found in Glendale after a crash. One occupant was detained at the crash scene, while another fled into a neighborhood before being apprehended. Both occupants of the suspect vehicle suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.
Phoenix Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday night.Phoenix Police said the shooting happened near the intersection of 29th and Northern avenues. No officers were injured as a result of the shooting.The suspect vehicle fled the scene following the shooting. The vehicle was eventually tracked to the area of 59th Lane and Northern Avenue in Glendale , about four miles away, where a crash happened.
Another ran from the vehicle into the nearby neighborhood. Officers set up a perimeter and after a short period of time, this person was located and detained," police said.The two people inside the suspect vehicle, per investigators, suffered gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital.Police have yet to release any information on what happened in the lead-up to the officer-involved shooting. Police also did not reveal the conditions of the two people inside the suspect vehicle.
