The Philadelphia Phillies set out to finish off a series sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals when they do battle on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball.”

The Phillies improved on their MLB-best 41-18 record with a 6-1 victory over St. Louis in Saturday night’s Game 2, adding it to a 4-2 win in Friday’s series opener. Philadelphia scored three times in the first inning but had to fight through the early exit of ace Ranger Suarez, who worked two hitless innings before being struck on his left hand with a line drive from Alec Burleson to end the second inning.
Suarez told reporters after the game that, “Everything is good” and added that he would know about his next start in a couple days,The Cardinals have been overmatched in two games in Philly thus far, but manager Oliver Marmol’s team is still 12-5 over their past 17 games. St. Louis will give the ball Sunday night to veteran right-hander Lance Lynn looking to get on the board with a win, and Philadelphia will start righty Taijuan Walker .
