The Philadelphia Film Festival has unveiled its 2020 film lineup for an Oct. 23 to Nov. 2 event set to stream movies and feature nightly drive-in screenings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The 29th edition will feature screenings at the two-screen Philadelphia Film Society Drive-In at the Navy Yard for Chloe Zhao's Venice and Toronto award winnerstarring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan; Lawrence Michael Levine'sSam Pollard’s documentary about the FBI’s surveillance of Martin Luther King, Jr.
As elsewhere across North America, with marquee events like the Toronto Film Festival and the New York Film Festival, Philadelphia has embraced a slate of digital and drive-in film screenings, rather than in-theater galas, to salvage a 2020 edition amid the pandemic.
