FAIRBANKS, Alaska - If you are looking to scout out a new furry friend then you are in luck, because Scout, a big guy with a big heart, is waiting for you at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter!
Scout is a 3-year-old neutered male Mastiff mix who arrived at the shelter on June 25. He is a big-boned lad, weighing in at 80 pounds, and he is certainly a bundle of energy. In his prior home Scout was so eager to play that he did end up accidentally knocking over some of the small children in the home,since he doesn’t quite understand his own size, so shelter staff say that he might do best in a home without babies.
He was said to be kennel trained, as well as housebroken, and he has done a great job keeping his kennel clean at the shelter. Staff say that he has demonstrated a habit of chewing on his blankets, so do keep that in mind if he is left unsupervised. Scout has acted very friendly and rambunctious toward his doggy neighbors at the shelter, but it isn’t clear how he might react toward other animals.
