More than 1,300 pounds of cat food are being recalled due to Salmonella contamination

The product was distributed between July 18-26, 2024 in six states, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.A food sample collected on Dec. 12, 2024, showed a positive test for Salmonella.

The FDA is warning consumers who have these products to throw them out in a way that pets, children or wildlife can’t access them or return them to their place of purchase for a refund. “Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products,”Target recall: 45K Christmas tree light controllers sold at Walmart & Target recalled, shoppers instructed to ‘immediately stop using’
