A pedestrian was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Short Hills on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Trains on the Morris & Essex line are being delayed by at least 30 minutes as NJ Transit police investigate. Train No. 417 struck the male at 12:19 p.m. near the east end of the platform at the Short Hills station, NJ Transit said. Officials didn’t say if the victim was an adult or juvenile. The train left Hoboken at 11:36 a.m. and was due in Gladstone at 1:16 p.m. There were 20 people aboard, NJ Transit said.
