Parts of Seattle are expected to come to a halt Saturday as demonstrators take to the streets ahead of President-elect Trump's inauguration on Monday.

Marchers numbering in the thousands arrive at the Seattle Center and in view of the Space Needle, Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, in Seattle. Women across the Pacific Northwest marched in solidarity with the Women's March on Washington and to send a message in support of women's rights and other causes.

Parts of Seattle are expected to come to a halt Saturday as demonstrators take to the streets ahead of President-elect Trump's inauguration on Monday. In that year, the gathering was branded as the Woman's March, but this time around organizers are calling it the People's March because so many different organizations are joining together to protest the expected policies of the new Trump Administration.

Sponsors of the gathering include leaders from Abortion Action Now, Time to Act, Women’s March, Popular Democracy In Action, Harriet’s Wildest Dreams, The Feminist Front, NOW, Planned Parenthood, National Women’s Law Center Action Fund, Sierra Club, and many others.Given the crowd size, organizers said they anticipate major traffic disruptions between Capitol Hill and Seattle Center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Throughout the United States, there are at least 100 People’s March demonstrations scheduled to take place in cities including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
