Kyiv said in February that thousands of Starlink satellite communications terminals were used by Russian troops in Ukraine.
The Pentagon has teamed up with Elon Musk's SpaceX to block the unauthorized use of Starlink satellite-based broadband systems by Russia's military in Ukraine, dealing a blow to Moscow in the ongoing war.Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy John Plumb told Bloomberg that the U.S. has been 'heavily involved in working with the government of Ukraine and SpaceX to counter Russian illicit use of Starlink terminals.
It comes days after Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts called on the Pentagon to tackle the issue, saying it poses a 'serious national security threat' to the U.S. and its allies, WSJ reported.'As a DoD contractor, SpaceX cannot allow its products or services to be used to undermine national security,' Warren wrote in a letter addressed to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the publication reported on May 6.'Defense contractors are paid big bucks to help the U.
