Penn State will face Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff semifinals after defeating Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Nittany Lions will face Notre Dame after the Fighting Irish defeated Georgia, 23-10, on Thursday night in the CFP quarterfinals at the Sugar Bowl. Penn State and Notre Dame will square off in the CFP semifinals, hosted by the Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, on Thursday, Jan. 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
The winner of Penn State-Notre Dame will face either Ohio State or Texas in the national championship on Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Notre Dame and Georgia kicked off at 4 p.m. Thursday at Caesar’s Superdome, less than a mile from the site of the early New Year’s Day attack at Bourbon and Canal streets.
