A pedestrian in his mid-30s was struck and killed early Saturday morning on the East Freeway near Federal Road in Houston.

Authorities report that the man was standing in the middle lane of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle. The woman driving the vehicle remained at the scene and was later transported to the hospital.Following the initial collision, a second vehicle carrying five people struck the first vehicle involved in the crash. All six occupants of the second vehicle were also taken to the hospital.
