during a traffic stop this spring, is suing the city of Grand Rapids, Mich., and the former police officer who shot him in the back of the head.
The civil lawsuit, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, alleges former Grand Rapids police officer Christopher Schurr violated federal law and Mr. Lyoya’s constitutional rights through use of excessive force.
