Lee and another former U.S. Open champion, Yuka Saso, are three off the lead at LCC

The only time Minjee Lee missed a U.S. Open cutline was 2015, when the world’s best golfers first teed it up at Lancaster Country Club.A 1-under 69 Friday has the Australian tied for third with fellow former U.S. Open champion Yuka Saso, the 18-hold leader who shot a second round 71.

“I’m really enjoying my time so far. The course is a really lovely walk, a lot of different type of holes, a lot of character to the course,” said Lee, the 2022 U.S. Open champion at Pine Needles in North Carolina. “I love playing U.S. Opens. I love the challenge,” she said. “I love that I really have to think about what I am doing and be strategic.”

American Andrew Lee matched her opening round 69 Friday and is two back. Saso won the 2021 championship on the Lake Course at the Olympic Club in California.
