Xavior Meadows, 22, of Oceanside was killed in the Thursday crash on westbound state Route 76 at Loretta Street
The crash happened about 11 p.m. Thursday, when the driver of a BMW sedan lost control of the car on westbound state Route 76 at Loretta Street in Oceanside, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The vehicle struck a center-divider wall and overturned, ejecting a passenger, 22-year-old Xavior Meadows, the agency reported. Paramedics took Meadows to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was pronounced dead. The suspected driver, identified by Oceanside police as Dejuhan Jones, a 20-year-old Oceanside resident, was arrested on DUI-related charges and one count of gross vehicular manslaughter.
