Three people picked up a homeless man and apparently tried to use him to cash a bad check at a Lyndhurst bank.
Updated: Jan. 29, 2025, 4:18 p.m.A Brainard man found that someone damaged the steering column of his 2008 Honda as the car was parked in his driveway.At 3:50 p.m. Jan. 26, an employee of the Melting Pot restaurant, 24741 Cedar Road at Legacy Village, reported that a party of eight people left without fully paying their bill of $502.85. They paid $200 in cash and attempted to use a credit card to pay the remainder.
At 9 p.m. Jan. 25, an officer stopped a car seen weaving between lanes. The passenger, a Cleveland man, 57, was found to be wanted on warrants issued by Parma, Highland Hills and Metroparks police.Police searched the car and found drug paraphernalia under the driver’s seat. Crack cocaine was found in the center compartment, under the radio.None of the males would admit that the drug-related items belonged to them.
At 6:45 a.m. Jan. 22, the 14-year-old boy’s grandmother reported that her grandson had left home and may be at a Euclid apartment. The boy later returned home, unharmed.At 3 p.m. Jan. 21, it was reported that a man attempted to cash a check at PNC Bank, 5055 Mayfield Road, but the bank, suspicious, turned him away.
