Pamela Anderson has been home colouring her hair blonde with this £8 dye for over 20 years *affiliates
If you haven’t already watched Pamela: A Love Story on Netflix, you need to add it to your weekend watch list. The documentary follows Pamela Anderson through the ages, and tackles some sensitive issues like her “sex symbol” media portrayal and the robbery of a private tape.
“My mother taught me how to colour my hair from the drugstore. I can do it myself in 20 minutes. Scandinavian Blonde here I come,” Pamela said. It’s incredible to think that someone as high profile as Pamela – and also someone who is possibly the most iconically “blonde” star since Marilyn Monroe – uses a box dye from a drugstore. The documentary also shows clips of Pam when she was younger with ashy brunette hair, meaning her starting point is nowhere near the bright blonde colour she’s been wearing for over two decades.
Garnier Nutrisse is also the range of home hair colourants that Holly Willoughby and Davina McCall front over here in the UK. Holly – another blonde screen legend – gets so many questions about her blonde colour that she addressed the topic in a previous Instagram video during one of the lockdowns when salons were shut.
