A pair of kosher supermarkets will replace two Stop & Shop stores that closed last year in towns that neighbor Lakewood.
Gourmet Glatt will be opening later this year in a vacant 67,000-square feet in Bennetts Mills Plaza in Jackson, according to Kristen Moore, a spokeswoman for Brixmor Property Group, which manages the shopping center. A Dollar Tree and a Verizon store are among the other businesses in the shopping center on County Line Road.Moisha’s Supermarket will replace the former Stop & Shop at Lanes Mill Marketplace on Route 9 in Howell, according to Efraim Feder, a Lakewood area realtor who is not involved with the property.
An opening date has not been set for the 66,441-square-foot store. Moisha’s Supermarket couldn’t immediately be reached Thursday.Both stores are within a few miles of Lakewood, a town where the majority of its 135,000 residents are Orthodox Jewish.
