With their win over the New York Mets Sunday night, the Padres won their best-of-three wild-card series and advanced to face the Dodgers in a best-of-five National League Division Series beginning Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. Game 1 will start at 6:37 p.m. with Game 2 on Wednesday starting one hour earlier. Both games will be televised on FS1.
After an off day Thursday, the series will continue at Petco Park in San Diego on Friday and Saturday with a potential Game 5 at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. Following their mid-season acquisitions of Juan Soto, Josh Hader, Brandon Drury and Josh Bell in mid-season trades, Padres chairman Peter Seidler called the Dodgers “the dragon up the freeway that we’re trying to slay” during a national television broadcast.
