Padres complete college-heavy draft by taking more
The summer of COVID-19 shaved the big-league season to a 60-game sprint, scrapped the entirety of the minor league season and cut the amateur draft from 40 rounds to five, excluding hundreds of high school players from a direct avenue into professional baseball.
