One fan held a sign reading, '100% pure love from Canada .' The other fan's sign made a reference to a recent joke from President-elect Donald Trump about the United States' northern neighbor. 'No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year?' Trump posted on social media.

'Makes no sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st state. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!' he wrote in a post on Truth Social. 'There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States,' Trudeau said on social media. 'Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other's biggest trading and security partner,' Trudeau wrote on social media. In the first quarter, it didn't look as though the Packers fans' hopes to join the United States would make much of a difference by the way the game started.
