A Westmoreland County man was arrested after being accused of putting a gun to another man’s head and directing a racial slur at two men at a Latrobe bar, according to news reports.
The incident was reported at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Hotel Loyal. Two men told authorities that the suspect, 67-year-old Charles Noel, was under the influence of alcohol and had put a gun to his head while hurling racial slurs at them, demanding that they leave the bar. Authorities quickly responded to the scene. While at the bar, Noel told authorities that he had enough of the “obnoxious” behavior one of the men exhibited and Noel admitted that he “probably pointed towards him.”
Surveillance footage that was taken inside the bar captured Noel approaching one of the men from behind and putting the gun to the back of the man’s head. When the two men were in the process of leaving, he pointed the gun at the two,“Events like these remind us of the importance of responsible drinking and the potential consequences of letting our judgment slip when alcohol is involved.
