Pennsylvania was found to be the number one state with the highest amount of native pro-baseball players in the U.S.
Pennsylvania was also fourth overall when it came to producing the most talent in general. “We used Wikipedia to gather a list of celebrities who originate from each of the following categories: actors and actresses, singers and rapper, comedians, and athletes, which consisted of basketball players, American football players, baseball players and ie hockey players,” the study elaborates.
“For each category, we then counted how many stars had been born in each state to create a ranking, before taking an overall number by combing all four categories.” In a press release sent out after the study’s publishing, TicketSource ranked Pennsylvania has the number one state that “produced” the highest number of players in the MLB with a grand total of 1,709. Overall, Pennsylvania fourth when it came to the number of its native talented individuals with 6,474 total.
As for the number one state, that would be California with a number of talented folks that nearly doubles that of Pennsylvania: 12,793 total. “This includes over 6,100 actors and actresses, including the likes of Angelina Jolie, Ben Affleck, Zendaya, and Zac Efron,” elaborates TicketSoure. “There are also over 2,600 singers and rappers who were born in the state, such as Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, and Cher.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
