Some Harvard professors are joining in an alliance to defend freedom of speech and academic freedom on one of America's most famous campuses.
A former law professor said university officials need to enforce their own policies after students and educators heckled a judge and stopped his remarks.
The initiative has been led by professors Stephen Pinker and Bertha Madras, who announced the council in an op-ed for the Boston Globe.
Pinker and Madras also emphasized that they would defend other academics who are canceled by"activists" for speaking their minds on campus.
