Starting Tuesday, Aug. 22, fans can pre-order a free Oscar Mayer hot dog straw inspired by a viral video which showed a baseball fan drinking his beer through a hot dog during a game in 2022. The hot dog straw is not edible, however. Instead, it’s made of soft silicone and replicates the same size and color of a hot dog, according to Oscar Mayer. The product is not intended for use with hot beverages. “While the viral ‘Hot Dog Straw’ divided the internet, we salute the brave man who paved the way to enjoy his hot dog as he wishes,” Oscar Mayer Associate Director Kelsey Rice said in a. “Taking inspiration from a classic Oscar Mayer dog, the silicone Hot Dog Straw is designed for optimal sipping, and we hope it brings a friendly reminder that we don’t need to take enjoying a delicious hot dog seriously. Some things are just meant to be fun.
