All but one Houston Natural Pawz, Kriser's location to stay open due to mystery buyer
One Natural Pawz in the Heights had previously closed, and a store in Kingwood East is not included in the deal. IPP attributed the bankruptcy filing to several factors, including the effects of COVID-19, recent inflation and"unexpected changes in consumer behavior resulting from a potentially fatal heart disease in dogs."
If the court approves the sale, the price of which was not disclosed, Picone and Joli-Coeur would regain all rights to the Natural Pawz brand and intellectual property. Once the deal closes, the pair would have 60 days to ball bring all stores under the Natural Pawz banner, according to the filing. While Picone and Joli-Coeur confirmed their bid to the Houston Chronicle, but they declined to comment on specific plans for the stores until the deal is approved by the court. APet Pros, which operates EarthWise Pet, Dee-o-Gee and Groombar stores, has offered to buy 16 of IPP's stores in California, Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire,
