An initial investigation lead authorities to believe the driver was speeding, police said.

The driver of a sedan, who crashed into a tractor-trailer, that caught fire early Saturday morning died, according to Ephrata police. It happened shortly after 2 a.m. on Route 222 south near mile marker 42 in the township, police said. The driver was found dead at the scene. An initial investigation lead authorities to believe that the driver was speeding, causing the car to strike the back of the tractor-trailer. The sedan caught fire after impact, police said.
