Stephen Amell's Arrowverse return as Oliver Queen gets imagined in a new The Flash season 9 fan trailer. The Arrowverse is winding down as The CW only has two shows left from the Greg Berlanti-produced universe. Superman & Lois season 3 will premiere in March, but it's unclear if that will be the final season or not. Then there is The Flash season 9, which will bring to an end to the Barry Allen-centric series after nearly a decade.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY One of the big aspects of The Flash's final season is the return of Amell as the Green Arrow in episode 9. While it's unclear when the episode will air, fans are already imagining what Amell's return will look like in The Flash season 9. Made by UltraEdits, the talented trailer editor put together a The Flash season 9 promo titled "Best of Us," imagining how Oliver will return to the Arrowverse. The trailer highlights past speeches by Oliver about Barry as a superhero while using footage from previous seasons, including his death in Crisis on Infinite Earths.
While Diggle, Wally West, and Ramsey Rosso's returns will be easier to explain, Oliver's re-emergence is the biggest mystery. As Arrow and Arrowverse fans will remember, Oliver sacrificed himself during Crisis on Infinite Earths not once but twice during the epic five-part crossover. The last time Oliver was seen on screen was in the Arrow series finale as he reunited with his wife, Felicity Smoak, in the Afterlife, before the show faded to black.
Even though The Flash season 9, episode 9, will have a lot to explain, it doesn't negate the massive deal of Amell coming back to the Arrowverse. This was something a lot of fans had been hoping and wishing to see in The Flash's upcoming swan-song season. With the Arrowverse closing in on its end, it makes sense for Amell to reunite with Gustin one last time, especially as Arrow was the show to set up The Flash.
