Questions surrounding Auburn’s offense will exist no matter who is under center, and Oklahoma’s defense should be able to limit Jarquez Hunter enough to take the Tigers out of rhythm and limit their scoring.Oklahoma opened as the favorite but has since dropped to underdog status with most sportsbooks having Auburn as the 1.5-point favorite. The moneyline for the Tigers varies between -110 to -120. For the Sooners, their moneyline sits between +104 to -110 depending on the platform.
As ugly as the Tigers’ offense can be, they still have found ways to create splash plays that could help them get an edge in what should be a low scoring affair Saturday. The sky may appear to be falling in Norman, Oklahoma, but the Sooners still have plenty of talent capable of winning games this season. The decision to bench QB Jackson Arnold was bizarre, but it likely doesn’t come without confidence in true freshman Hawkins.
Slowing down Hunter will be a point of emphasis, but Oklahoma coach Brent Venables has made this front seven efficient at slowing down the run, which forces the Tigers to beat them through the air.
