Between Republicans’ current dominance, new district lines they drew to their favor, and a towering campaign cash advantage, the party is all but certain to keep control of both chambers of the general assembly.

Besides the structural advantage, Republicans have raised substantially more money for ad time, mailers, and staff than Democrats. The Republican Senate Campaign Committee has spent about $1.4 million on races in 2021-2022, compared to about $395,000 from the Ohio Senate Democrats’ committee. The Ohio House Republican Alliance has also spent about $1.5 million this cycle, compared to about $608,000 from the Ohio House Democratic Campaign Committee.

Here are some Northeast Ohio races and other potentially close contests to keep an eye on, using data from the app.Republican incumbent Sen. Kristina Roegner – one of the most conservative members of the Senate – is running against Democrat Patricia Goetz, a child, adolescent, and adult psychologist. The district was a Republican stronghold until redistricting reshaped it, leaving Democrats a 1.8% advantage. It now spans a portion of Summit County and would be Democrats’ best bet for a flip.

· 58th House District, Youngstown area. Incumbent GOP Rep. Al Cutrona against Democrat Bruce Neff. The district gives Democrats a 0.9% advantage.· 10th House District, Columbus area. Democrat Russell Harris against Republican David Dobos. Democrats have a 1.4% advantage in the district.
