On returning home to Oregon: “I didn’t build the program, Rich Brooks and Mike Bellotti built the program...It’s a special place. Autzen Stadium at that time of day, it’s truly special.” On the atmosphere that will be in Eugene this Saturday: “You really don’t concentrate on the stadium, you concentrate on the opponent.” He added that once you turn on the film, you’re more focused and occupied with the players on the field.
On comparing Ohio State and Oregon: “I learned a long time ago, I think it was Thomas Jefferson, that comparison is the thief of joy.” He noted that he doesn’t think of those two schools right now against one another, but could when he retires.
