Ohio State struggles in the first half but controls the second half to defeat James Madison, 80-66, and advance to the second round of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament.
The momentum of the game flipped in the final four minutes of the first half as the Buckeyes finished the second quarter on a 15-2 run, scoring the final 12 points before halftime to make it a three-point game at the intermission. Cotie McMahon led the run for the Buckeyes, scoring eight points in the final 3:09 of the half to finish the first 20 minutes with 11 points.
Ohio State started the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to take a 12-point lead. The Buckeyes would lead by double digits for the remainder of the game, building its lead to as many as 17 points before ultimately winning by 14.
