What a turnaround of a week. After going 1-3 at Cal Poly, Ohio State finished their California road trip down in Fullerton on Wednesday then headed back east for a three-game weekend series at West Virginia, capping off the week by scoring the most runs in a game since 2002.

The BaseBucks would then go back east for a three game weekend series against the Mountaineers of West Virginia. Game 1 on Friday started out as a pitchers duel as the two starting pitchers combined for 21 strikeouts through 6 innings as Ohio State held on to a 2-1 lead since the T3. However a 3-run homer by West Virginia capping off a 4-run B7 gave them a 5-2 lead they would hold on to for the rest of the game as the WVU closer struck out 6 Buckeye batters in two innings.
