The number of new COVID-19 cases in Ohio dipped again this week by nearly 750 cases.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Ohio dipped again this week, falling to 7,586 from 8,332 last week.
Prior to March 9, the last time Ohio’s case number was below 9,000 was Feb. 16, when the case number was 8,999. fell from 736 last week to 687 on Thursday. That number is still below a recent high of 1,423 on Dec. 29.Total reported COVID-19 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic were 41,869.A total of 7,575,856 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 68.2% of Ohioans age 5 and up.
Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 26,749 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 1,499 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. And there have been 88,038 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 6,632 fully vaccinated people hospitalized.* Total reported cases: 3,408,238, up 7,586.* Total reported ICU admissions: 15,077, up 38.* Total reported hospitalizations: 138,145, up 425.
