Daryl Robert Harrison, 44, also known as Prince Daryl R. Attipoe and Prophet Daryl R. Attipoe, stole more than $800,000 from at least 14 victims, prosecutors say.

DAYTON, Ohio — An Ohio man who bilked more than $800,000 from victims by pretending to be a Ghanaian prince was sentenced Wednesday by a federal judge to 20 years in prison.was convicted by a jury in September

Court documents and trial testimony show that from January 2014 until September 2020, Harrison, claiming he was a royal prince from Ghana, convinced victims they were investing in African trucking and mining companies. Prosecutors say he told investors he had direct connections with they companies and that investors could expect a return of 28 to 33 percent.

Prosecutors say Harrison also went to local Starbucks, IHOP restaurants, Kroger stores, fitness centers and car washes to solicit victims.
