Officer, suspect involved in deadly Mesa College shooting identified [Breaking]
The police officer and suspected gunman involved in a shooting at Mesa College last week — resulting in the death of the suspect and a police dog — were identified Monday.
Ansari has been employed by the San Diego Police Department for 11 years. He is assigned as a patrol officer in the Western Division.after police received a report of gunshots being fired from a Tesla at another driver on Ben Street in Clairemont. The victim was uninjured. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident, under a countywide protocol involving officer-involved shootings.
The Police Department will conduct an internal administrative investigation, officials said, and the Commission on Police Practices is expected to review the incident as well.
