Chicago police said an off-duty officer was stabbed multiple times early Friday morning in an altercation at a North Side bar.
Police said some type of altercation started inside the Mark II Lounge in the 7400-block of North Western Avenue in the city's West Rogers Park neighborhood around 4 a.m. The early morning fight was captured on graphic video. The altercation, which involved multiple people, spilled outside and the officer was stabbed several times, CPD said. The 36-year-old officer was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police said Area Three Detectives are questioning a person of interest, but no charges have yet been filed."I go down the streets of Rogers Park with no problem, and so does my wife with our dog, and I won't let her go do it at night alone anymore," said Ned Targos, resident.Several neighbors said they've called police in the past because of previous fights that have spilled out of that bar, and they're now hoping this incident will spur action.
