The former secretary of Homeland Security under President Barack Obama says 'the job is different' than when he was in charge of the agency.
"Well, the job, first of all, is different than it was when I was in office seven, eight years ago," Johnson said."The current secretary was my deputy secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas. The job is different. The immigration problem is much bigger than it was."
Johnson served as Homeland Security secretary from 2013 until 2017 after serving as the general counsel for the Department of Defense under the Obama administration.to resign due to his job performance, Johnson said he should stay on message. "So, sometimes, the essence of the job is repeating over and over again one simple, straightforward message that you want people to hear," Johnson said on the podcast.
