Dad accused of kidnapping 4-year-old son, dragging mom behind scooter
Police are on the hunt for a father who they say kidnapped his 4-year-old son in the Bronx during a custody fight with the boy’s mother.
The incident occurred Sunday just before 9:20 p.m., when 22-year-old Makiel Turbi met with his child’s mother and the young boy in the area of East 182nd Street and Jerome Avenue. During the encounter, Turbi grabbed his son, Yoangel Sepulveda, placed him on his motorized scooter without his mom’s consent and sped away, police said.
In a desperate bid to rescue her son, the 22-year-old mom tried to hold onto Turbi’s scooter and was dragged several feet into the intersection, according to investigators.The NYPD released photos of Turbi and his son, appealing to the public for help with finding them. Turbi’s son, 4-year-old Yoangel Sepulveda, was last seen being whisked away on his dad’s scooter in the Bronx Sunday.Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA .
